I looked at Beehiv when I was switching away from MailChimp but I forgot to include it here. It looks pretty good! Every email platform offers a sign-up for a free plan, so my advice is to just sign up for free and poke around and see how much you like it.

I am not familiar with Ghost. It looks like a more comprehensive platform though (not just newsletters).
